Although Wever is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 52658, which opened on 1837-05-01. This post office has a complicated name history: it opened as Sand Ridge, changed to Green Bay on 1849-09-17, to Jollyville on 1859-01-28, and finally to Wever on 1870-10-17.
