Newberry is a city located on the west side of Alachua County, Florida, United States. The population was 3,316 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 3,630 . Much of the city borders the neighboring Gilchrist County to the west. The current mayor is Harry Nichols.
