Brocton is a village in Chautauqua County, New York, United States. The population was 1,547 at the 2000 census. The name was derived by combining parts of the names "Brockway" and "Minton" (two locally prominent families). The Village of Brocton is within the Town of Portland. The Lakeview Shock Incarceration Correctional Facility, a state prison is located by the village.
